Our Mission Statement
We are here to provide the best possible orthotics service to our clients, to provide help, advice and treatment.
What is an Orthotist?
"Orthotists assess, diagnose and treat patients requiring specialist devices (orthoses) or other intervention to overcome difficulties of body movement, control or discomfort resulting from a very wide range of acute, chronic or progressive conditions. Orthoses include splints, braces, callipers, corsets, collars and therapeutic footwear. Patient groups include children with congenital and acquired mobility difficulties and adults with acute injuries or long-term conditions."

What is an orthosis?
An orthosis is an external device used to modify the structural or functional characteristics of the neuromuscular or musculo skeletal system.
More simply, orthoses are splints, braces, callipers, supports, insoles or special shoes which can be used to improve alignment, ease movement, provide protection and reduce pain.
Orthoses can be ready made “off the shelf” or customised for the individual patient.
We offer two levels of treatment:
1) A referral for a basic off the shelf device. In this case the referrer will have assessed you and prescribed a support, e.g. tennis elbow splint, knee wrap, wrist support, soft ankle support, hosiery, maternity belt. Your appointment will be 30 minutes and you will be measured and usually fitted and supplied in this appointment time.
2) More involved treatment which usually requires a custom made orthosis or footwear. It will require more than one appointment. New patient assessments take at least one hour which may also include measuring for the device.
