We understand that the cost of helmet therapy is a significant consideration. There are UK charities that may be able to help, and we are happy to support your application wherever we can.

Charities That May Help

Headstart4Babies — Registered charity 1112256 — headstart4babies.org

Founded by parents who went through helmet therapy with their own child, Headstart4Babies was set up specifically to support families facing plagiocephaly and brachycephaly. It aims to assist families on lower incomes with the cost of helmet therapy, subject to available funds, and can also help with fundraising. Apply via their website.

Tree of Hope — Registered charity 1043092 — treeofhope.org.uk

A well-established charity helping families fundraise for medical treatments not available through the NHS. They offer practical support throughout the process, including marketing guidance, Gift Aid registration, and a dedicated Family Support Officer. All donations go directly to treatment costs.

Donations through JustGiving can attract Gift Aid, adding 25% at no extra cost to the donor

Important — When Helmet Therapy Is Not Suitable

The LOCband Lite is not suitable for babies with craniosynostosis (premature fusing of the skull sutures) or hydrocephalus (abnormal accumulation of fluid in the brain). These conditions require medical or surgical treatment and are outside the scope of Cranial Remoulding Therapy. If either is suspected at assessment, Lucy will refer you to your GP or paediatrician immediately.
